Why you should have regular IPL Photofacial treatments

photofacial IPL Treatment

One of the most common cosmetic treatments for the face is the IPL photofacial treatment. There are many IPL photofacial benefits including the reduction of sun spots, age spots, hyperpigmentation, facial vessels & facial redness.

You will be able to notice improvement in your skin tones after just one treatment. However, a series of 3-5 treatments every 4-6 weeks will help you to fully achieve your desired results.

Most patients notice minimal downtime after this treatment. Post treatment you may experience mild swelling, slight facial redness, bruising and a temporary darkening of the pigmentation while it is peeling off over the next week or so.

The majority of patients tend to start treatments on the facial area but once they start to see the amazing results they tend to have other areas treated including the neck, chest, arms and hands.

Brown spots on the skin (known as “sun spots” or “age spots”) occur over time due to skin cells called melanocytes. These cells have the potential to cause pigmentation on the skin, and things like age and chronic sun exposure cause these melanocytes to produce pigment.

IPL laser for hyperpigmentation helps treat these brown spots by selectively heating up the pigment (but leaving the surrounding tissue alone and unharmed), then lifting that heated, “damaged” area to the surface of the skin where it is removed by the body’s natural exfoliation process.  The brown spots that have been effectively treated typically will get darker initially over the next 24 hours, then slowly fade away over the next 1-2 weeks.

IPL laser for rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition which primarily affects the face. Unlike a temporary flush, the redness remains for extended periods of time if left untreated, could become more persistent and pronounced.

Symptoms of rosacea include uncontrollable blushing or flushing, persistent redness, raised papules/pimples with accompanied stinging or burning, visible blood vessels, thickening of the skin and bloodshot eyes.

The IPL for rosacea treatment device emits a range of light waves which are attracted to the hemoglobin in your blood vessels. This controlled injuy triggers the body’s natural response to break down and remove the damaged broken capillaries and vessels, replacing the problem area with fresh new clearer skin cells.
